This report looks at global marketing strategy of Coca Cola and also the Global Brand Strategy of Coca Cola. Through SWOT analysis try to analyze strengths and weaknesses of Coca Cola Co.

Global Strategy of Coca Cola:
Consumers will have different experiences, given their personal references and location. The Coca-Cola Company is adjusting its approach so that it can tap into these differences and provide the appropriate marketing activities and beverages to connect with consumers.
Its “think local, act local” approach to marketing allowed adopting communications to fit local circumstances. Coca-Cola Company wants to provide consumers with beverages to fit their different life styles and life stages.
CEO Douglas Daft said “In the past Coke succeeded as it appealed to global commonalties. In the future there is a need to understand and appeal to local differences”.
– Firstly he replaced practically all of Coca-Cola’s senior management in Europe with local executives. By placing more responsibility and accountability in the hands of local managers who are closest to the local consumer.
– “Coca Cola flourishes when our people are allowed to use their insight to build the business in ways best suited to their local culture and business conditions”. Efforts were made to give freedom to local managers to act according to the local conditions.
– Draft believed that it was essential to build the core of the business on the strength of the brand. Also it was important to relate to people.
– In Brussels, hostesses go to discos and hand out free Coke to teenagers having alcohol to demonstrate pleasure of a Coke break. This was possible by the insights of local marketing managers of Coke who knew that Belgians are party animals management in Atlanta would not know this. This is a good example of how the new localization was working.

The Disadvantages of Internet Business!

One of the topics that is often discussed on forums and message boards around the internet is the topic of online business. A number of people will tell you exactly what they think about internet business and to people that have been successful in it, the majority of what they say is positive. This is because there is a bias in the positive direction when it comes to online business because many of the people in online business sell products specifically about how to make money online. Therefore, there is an inherent conflict of interest in the things they tell you. One topic not often considered is the topic of how it might be disadvantageous to get involved in online business. There are definite disadvantages to internet business and some of them are discussed below.

Firstly, there is the distraction factor. Internet business usually entails working from home and therefore you can find any distraction at home in order to take you away from working on your online business. The television, the stovetop, the microwave, the bed and the backyard are all distractions that can result in people getting dropped from online business and losing their sense of concentration. Concentration is key in online business and ultimately it is going to be what drives people forward to succeed.

However, the offline distractions are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to online business. Because a lot of internet business work is tedious and boring, it is easy to get distracted. Have you ever heard people playing online games in the workplace because their job is boring at times? Well, consider how that could easily be you if you are working at an online business. You’d be sunk before you even started and that is not going to be good for anyone; least of all you.

In addition to distraction, there is also the competitive nature of internet business. If you want to get involved in a particular niche, chances are there are already going to be people there ahead of you. And with the internet, larger people can crush smaller people a lot easier than big businesses can crush small ones. Competitors think nothing of discrediting each other and ultimately everyone is only interested in selling their products and making money. It is a cut-throat world on the internet and people that aren’t aware of this could get crushed so fast it would make their head spin.

So, as you can see, there are a number of disadvantages to online business. This is not to say that it can not be lucrative; far from it in fact. The internet gives you a great chance to reach people you would never have been able to reach otherwise and it is primarily for that reason that you need to be aware of all of the disadvantages inherent to internet business; to understand both the good and the bad.

Los Angeles, Ca – Sports and Recreation

The sports and recreation market of Los Angeles, CA touts many sports teams. Currently the leagues represented include the National Basketball Association, with the Los Angeles Clippers and the Los Angeles Lakers; the WNBA, with the Los Angeles Sparks; and the Major League Soccer, with the Los Angeles Galaxy and Chivas USA.

Major League Baseball has the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, with the National Hockey League promoting the Los Angeles Kings and the Anaheim Ducks. The American Football League has the Los Angeles Avengers and Major League Lacrosse has the Los Angeles Riptide. In the growing Hispanic community, there is great fan interest in Mexican soccer teams. Of these, the most popular are ‘Chivas’ and ‘America,’ who have developed an intense team rivalry.

In the national collegiate ranks, the two most well-known sports teams in Los Angeles are the USC Trojans and the UCLA Bruins, of which both have winning football programs.

The Staples Center hosts the Clippers, Lakers, Sparks and the Avengers in their home games. The Home Depot Center is the venue where the Galaxy, Chivas USA and the Riptide play. The Dodgers host their games at Dodger Stadium, while the Angels of Anaheim play at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Lastly, the Anaheim Ducks play their home games at the Honda Center, previously known as the Arrowhead Pond Of Anaheim.

The National Football Association at one time had a dynamic presence with both the Rams and Raiders LA. The American Football League formerly had a presence with the San Diego Chargers, now part of the National Football League. Los Angeles is currently seeking a new stadium to attract professional football to return.

In other leagues, the Los Angeles Wolves were once a part of the United Soccer Association, which started its first season in 1967. The Los Angeles Toros of the NPSL also began in 1967. Both leagues merged to form the NSL, after which the Wolves remained in Los Angeles and in 1968 the Toros relocated to became the San Diego Toros in 1968. However, when the first season ended, both teams folded. Later, the National American Soccer League returned a team to LA by starting the Los Angeles Aztecs in 1974. Unfortunately, the Aztecs folded in 1981.
